Rare Cancers

Rare Cancers

A Rare Cancer can be difficult to diagnose. To find out and understand what type of cancer you have, you may be referred to more than one specialist. You may need to have more tests than people with more common cancers.

Rare Cancers affect a small number of people. Doctors might also call a cancer rare if it starts in an unusual place in the body. Or if the cancer is an unusual type and needs special treatment.

The cancer develops in a person who is not expected to get cancer. This is especially the case in young adults and teenagers
