Dr. Devendra G Parikh

Dr. Devendra Parikh is a qualified Surgical Oncologist working in Gujarat, India. After M.B.B.S He has completed M.S in General Surgery from SSG Hospital, Government medical college, Vadodara in year 2009. He got trained in the field of Surgical Oncology from the prestigious Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (2010-2013). He has done fellowship in Esophageal Cancer Surgery at National cancer centre, Tokyo, Japan in 2017 (Dr Yuji Tachimori) and in 2019 (Dr Daiko). He has done observership for minimally invasive foregut surgery under Dr James Luketich at UPMC, Pittsburgh in 2018.

He has special interest in Esophageal Cancer Surgery.  He pursued his keen interest during his training and afterwards. He is amongst the few surgeons in India who believe and perform 3 field LN dissection for esophageal cancer.

He is a strong proponent of Minimal invasive approach in cancer surgery. For his work in “Minimal invasive esophagectomy in locally advanced Esophageal Cancer” he was awarded travelling fellowship by JSCO (Japanese Society of Clinical Oncology). He has many publications in various Journals and has many papers and poster presentation at various National & International Conferences to his credit. He has received Video Award in 2018 at Indian Society of Esophageal and Stomach (ISES) and best video award at NATCON (Indian association of surgical oncology) in 2019.

He is a board - certified Robotic Surgeon for Da Vinci Xi Surgical System by Intuitive Surgical Inc, for which he had taken training at Sunnyvale, California. Currently he is a national level proctor for robotic esophagectomy and robotic colectomy. He is a firm believer of evidence-based approach for the treatment of cancer patient. With 12 years of Post-MS (General surgery) academic experience in surgical oncology he is presently working as a Senior Consultant in Department of Surgical Oncology at HCG Cancer Centre, Ahmedabad.
