GE Junction Cancer

Gastroesophageal junction Cancer refers to cancer of the lower part of the esophagus, which connects to the stomach. Glandular cells produce and release fluids like mucus and are located in the esophagus.

Treatment for Gastroesophageal Junction typically involves surgery if the tumor is resectable (able to be removed). Other treatments may be given prior to or after surgery, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.

GEJ cancer by com.paring transhiatal and transthoracic esophagectomy, proximal and total gastrectomy as well as left thoracoabdominal esophagogastrectomy, gastrectomy and transthoracic esophagectomy. We also assess the extent of lymphadenectomy for different surgical approaches.
